This Tuesday’s Poem vol 5

Once upon a time

From my womb I gave birth to a knife

for many years I used it

to cut myself

thinking that the right slice

would make my body into the shape

it is supposed to be

It never worked.

Today I sharpen my knife

and no longer fade gently into the night

I turn my knife upon those

who taught me

that my body in all its wrongness

is responsible for the sins of man.
